Harmony Health Selected for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Health Equity Initiative

Harmony Health will receive computing credits and technical expertise from Amazon Web Services to connect diverse communities to health equity services through their trusted Community-based Organizations.

Harmony Health today announced that it has been selected for Amazon Web Services’s (AWS’s) Health Equity Initiative, supporting organizations that are developing solutions to advance health equity.

Through the program, AWS offers AWS credits and customized technical expertise to selected organizations around the world that want to use AWS services to improve health outcomes and health equity in any of the following areas:

  • increasing access to health services for underserved communities;
  • addressing social determinants of health; and
  • leveraging data to promote more equitable and inclusive systems of care.

The support from AWS will advance Harmony Health’s micro-engagement platform that helps Community-based Organizations connect with and serve at-risk communities and individuals.

The Harmony Health micro-engagement enables:

  • Reaching traditionally disconnected individuals and communities in real-time and through trusted channels
  • Increasing engagement between individuals and the care services they need (thereby bringing more people into preventive care)
  • Gathering and analyzing new data (revealed by individuals) to create better insights and services design

“Harmony Health micro-engagement platform helps amplify the inclusive initiatives and efforts of trusted messengers, and allows them to connect with individuals at scale and in real-time context,” said Vineet Gulati, CEO of Harmony Health. “We are excited to help scale our infrastructure and communication reach with AWS’s support, and plan to leverage tools like artificial intelligence to analyze this new genre of data that we are generating.”

“AWS believes individual health outcomes should not depend on socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or neighborhood, “said Maggie Carter, Global Lead, Social Impact at AWS. “Cloud technology can be a force multiplier when it comes to addressing the inequities in global health that have been amplified by the pandemic. Through our Health Equity Initiative, we look forward to helping Harmony Health and other organizations worldwide use AWS to advance health equity and improve health outcomes.”
